Setting of Accounts / Identities

  • In Outlook Express
    • Open your outlook express
    • On file menu select identities where you will select new identity from its options

step 1

    • Type 2 (two) of your names in the dialog box that appears and remember to check the box for require password

    • Enter your password and confirm it in the password dialog box that will appear and click OK

step 3

 

    • Switch to the identity created
    • Enter your display name in the Your Name dialog box appearing and click next to enter your email address
    • Then enter you’re your incoming mails server as mail.barua.co.ke and your outgoing mail server as smtp.barua.co.ke and click next

    • Then you enter you account name and the password to log into your email address same as the one you gave in step 4 (four) above.

    • Finally follow the procedures that follow selecting the best options for you.

 

  1. Microsoft Express
    1. With your Microsoft outlook open  (open it from start>programs>Microsoft Outlook)
    2. Select email account from tools menu
    3. Then select the option to add new email account from the many options available then click next

Put your display name where applicable.

    • From the option in the next dialog box, select the server to work with i.e. the one you will be downloading your mails from. Select POP3 server radio box for your case. Here you will have your incoming mail server as mail.barua.co.ke and your outgoing mail server as smtp.barua.co.ke

    •  In the dialog box that appears, enter details as required
    • Click OK
    • And finally Finish

You have now set up your email account.

 

For those who will still need to be accessing their emails outside their office, they can use the web mail service by logging to mail.barua.co.ke where you are required to enter your email address and finally your password.

However, this can be more beneficial when you configure the server through your Outlook or Microsoft Outlook to leave a copy of the messages in the server.

 

The procedure is as shown below:

On Outlook Express / Microsoft Express

    • From tools menu, select accounts

    • From the dialog box that appears, select mail.barua.co.ke and select the properties Tab on your right, after selecting the mail just before new tab.

    • On the resulting menu select Advanced options Tab

    • Check the box for leave a copy of the messages on the server under Delivery Option.

    • Finally Click apply and OK
